Sybase has SUP - Sybase Unwired Platform, that makes mobilization of SAP via BAPI calls a snap. SUP also handles device management, provisioning, security, etc.

Strongly back you up in that overall comment. The lack of standard on the abap side makes it difficult to integrate with something else than SAP. Maybe it is where WebServices help

iPhone OS 3.0 - still not Enterprise ready

Great new features for geeks, but none for companies

After reading Ian Thains blog about the business readiness of the iPhone (at http://blogs.sybase.com/ithain/?p=953), I thought about this topic as well.

While Ian thinks that the iPhone OS 3.0 update is a big step towards enterprise adoption of the iPhone, I have a different opinion.

We had a discussion yesterday about how it would be possible to simplify the SAP integration with 3rd party development tools for mobilizing R/3 or ERP based business processes. My belief is: It can't!
