Too much work to blog the last months
There has not been much activity in this blog lately. On the one site this is a bad sign – on the other one it is good because it means we have a lot of work.
Many things changed in the months since my last post. I will write about them in the next days.
Now I sit here on a Friday evening, 9pm with a beer next to my laptop and I’m angry because I forgot to tell the customer to keep the OSS connection open over the weekend. I planned to work on the customer system, but without a connection it is difficult. So I take the chance and I blog. This is by the way my first blog from my 17” MacBookPro, which I have since two weeks. In the past I thought that a Mac offers great hardware, but I thought of it as nice to have. Now I realize that it is more than that – it is close to what I would call perfect. Compared to my old HP notebook it is not as good as my iPhone compared to my Nokia E90, but very close. I can at least say that I don’t want to go back. All the software that I need is available on OS X with the exception of the development tools (NetWeaver Development Studio, Visual Studio, Sybase Unwired Platform, …). But even they are running here – thanks to Parallels. I have never dreamed of such a tight integration between a virtual machine and the host – unbelievable!
