msc mobile’s MTE presented by IDS Scheer on the SAP Travel Management Info Day
Where do we come from, where do we want to go?
After last year’s successful participation at the SAP Travel Road Show, msc mobile also joined this year’s SAP Travel Management Info Day in St. Leon-Rot. On the agenda was a 360° Travel Management inside view. From the travel request via online booking integration to expense report submission. I think it is amazing how much cost saving is possible between full service booking by a travel agency and a no touch scenario (completely online booking) – it’s up to 90%!
SAP pushes the Netweaver Process Integration (PI) also in the Travel Management market, where provider can integrate directly via OTA (Open Travel Alliance) Standard instead of indirect GDS (Global Distribution System). The advantage is with OTA any service provider (airline, hotel, etc.) can be connected directly with individual conditions and thereby save the transaction fees for the GDS-Agent (e.g. Amadeus).
The SAP road map showed plans to better integrate external booking machines, sustainability (CO2 –calculation of different transportation ways), integration of shared service framework and some functional extensions, like reverse charge, mass approval, integration time recording and later activity planning from CRM .
From the partner community Amadeus, GetThere (end-to-end SAP integrated travel procurement) and OpenText (Document Management including scanning, barcode recognition and archiving) demoed their solutions. Further Trivago showed the interesting meta-hotel-search engine. Trivago collates the result of hotel websites and operators, so no need any more to compare a hotel between e.g. hrs and hotel.de.
From customer side BöhringerIngelheim presented why they have integrated SAP Travel Management. The goal was to establish a decentralized handling with latest technology and reduction of administrational overhead by the integration of online booking systems, AirPlus corporate and company card and SAP workflow.
And last but not least Mr. Kleineher presented the business process excellence at IDS Scheerand the benefits of msc mobile’s MTE solution for SAP travel expense management. As professional service provider it is important for IDS Scheer to record travel expense everywhere and anytime, so they need an offline solution. As the SAP standard offering MTR does not meet their requirements they decided to go with our MTE solution and they run it now without any issues since more then 2 1/2 years. With MTE it is possible to have an optimized solution on the one hand and on the other a product based on SAP standard with all the integration into SAP backend. Overall this was a very informative day for everybody who is interested in SAP Travel Management.
