2013: More web-enabled phones then PC's
Gartner's forecast for 2013
Interesting predictions from Gartner about how many phones will have a browser in 2013.

Gartner forecasts phones overtaking PCs as most common web browsing device by 2013
I fully believe this - but the more important question for me: At what time will the phone become the primary device for business processes? For some groups it already is. Like the upper management. I was in discussion with a company in the professional services area and they told me that their upper management is not using laptops anymore. They just have their Blackberry's and have everything they need in their pockets.
There are other groups where this can happen as well: Sales reps and service technicians. Why take a laptop with you if you can get the same with a smartphone? If the business applications are well build, they can be as user friendly as on a laptop (I can't thank Apple often enough for lifting mobile software onto a whole new level with the iPhone). And the devices will be cheaper and save the company money.
I'm sure that in the close future mobile business solutions on smartphones will be as common as web browsers today.
